Apply to become a Scholar at Church Health

A faith-and-health immersion program in Memphis, TN, Church Health Scholars is part the Church Health Service Learning Programs and educates emerging leaders while providing a unique opportunity to serve people in need. Our year-long program combines practical professional experience with academic scholarship to train recent college graduates in their health related area of interest and introduce them to issues of faith and health. By encouraging, teaching and supporting our Scholars, we aim to create a more compassionate, effective health care system for everyone.

Church Health Scholars serve full-time and commit to a one-year program from June 2023 to June 2024, and receive an hourly salary and full Church Health benefits, including medical insurance, during their year at the Church Health.

You must submit your application all at once. The system will not save your work and allow to pick up where you left off. Before submitting your application, we recommend revisiting the application check list on our website. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that their application materials are in order and submitted on time. This includes letters of recommendation, personal statement, short responses, and the full application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. We will contact candidates with any issues, follow up questions, and interview requests. Please do not contact other staff regarding the status of your application as they may not know. COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

COVID-19 vaccine is a condition of employment for all employees of Church Health, including those who do not have direct patient contact; this policy extends to all contract employees, volunteers and student interns who work within Church Health spaces at Crosstown Concourse. It is the intent of this policy to require any booster shots or subsequent annual vaccinations, as recommended by the CDC, to maintain vaccination status. Proof of vaccination is required absent a documented medical or religious exemption.
